PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda believes in and survives on tribe to become fatter and richer, says Michael Sata. And PF leader Sata has told Petauke residents that President Banda forgot about the people of Eastern Province after hoodwinking them to vote for him.

Commenting on President Banda’s reported sidelining of MMD Eastern provincial chairmanship candidate Chilufya Chishala in preference to fellow tribesman Kennedy Zulu, the PF leader said tribalism was typical of President Banda.

“Rupiah Banda doesn’t hide tribe and he has differed with some of his MPs members of parliament and ministers here but I am not surprised, that is what he is. He uses his tribe to be fatter, richer and to be more comfortable but after he has hoodwinked them, he forgets about them,” Sata said.

And addressing a rally at Mizyu Basic School grounds, Sata told the people of Petauke that President Banda and the MMD had neglected them by not implementing development projects which they promised them during elections.

He observed that President Banda had been flying over the people of Petauke.

Sata bemoaned the dilapidation of roads and other infrastructure.

He said Petauke Central and Kapoche parliamentarians Dora Siliya and Professor Fashion Phiri respectively had not done anything in their constituencies.

Sata expressed sadness at high unemployment levels in the country, especially among the youths.

He urged the electorate to vote en masse to change government and ensure their lives improve.

“When MMD members bring money asking that you give them your voter’s cards, just get their money, but thereafter tell them that your voter’s cards are somewhere else and promise them to come another day. When they come again tell them to give you more money but don’t give them your voter’s card,” Sata said. “Where have they been all along for them to be giving you money now before elections?”
