MDC-T thugs attack Zanu-PF official

A Zanu-PF District Coordinating Committee 6 Chairman, Joshua Gore was on Sunday afternoon brutally attacked by an armed gang of MDC-T party youths in Harare. The senior Zanu-PF official was attacked in broad daylight and sustained serious head injuries.

This is despite continuous calls by the political leadership within the inclusive Government for party members to desist from perpetrating acts of violence.

The vicious attacks have been condemned by some Zanu-PF members, who said it goes against the spirit of national healing and reconciliation enunciated by President Robert Mugabe.

Police say they have arrested 10 suspected MDC-T youths in connection with the case.

Several incidents of violence involving MDC-T members have been dealt with by the police and some cases are being handled by the courts.

The spate of violence by MDC-T comes at a time when members of the Joint Monitoring and Implementation Committee (JOMIC) recently signed an agreement urging their party members to desist from any form of violence.
