ZANU-PF Chief Negotiator to the Global Political Agreement, Patrick Chinamasa has blasted MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai for misinforming SADC leaders on the situation prevailing in the country. Chinamasa said Tsvangirai is like a whirl-wind which has no direction.

This statement was made following the MDC-T leader’s regional tour of Sadc countries ahead of the Troika Summit held last week. Tsvangirai told the Sadc leaders that there is violence in the country and the situation is not conducive for the holding of elections.

“His (Tsvangirai) utterances exposed him and his party’s desperate attempt to stop the general elections set for this year,” Chinamasa said.

He added that "not much should be expected from the coming of the Sadc facilitation team", which is expected in the country this week to get an update on the progress since the inception of the inclusive government.

Tsvangirai went on a regional mission in the so-called diplomatic offensive by his party claiming that the situation in Zimbabwe is deteriorating.

President Robert Mugabe has already warned the Sadc block’s facilitator, South African President Jacob Zuma and his team to stop dictating how Zimbabwe should run its affairs insisting that his duty is only to facilitate and give recommendations on the prevailing political situation ahead of elections expected this year.
