Fr Miha dies

MISSION Press director Fr Miha Drevensek has died. Secretary general of the Franciscan Friara in Zambia Fr Matthews Mumba confirmed the death yesterday. Fr Mumba said Fr Miha, 65, was taken ill to Mirama Hospital in Ndola yesterday morning following a heart attack, but died around 15:00 hours.

And Get Involved Zambia executive director Fr Frank Bwalya said the death of Fr Miha came with a great sense of shock and loss. Fr Bwalya said to him, Fr Miha was a courageous priest, a prophetic voice and a parent.

"Fr Miha is a person that helped me materially, as well as his family and yet he conducted himself in a very humble way. Even when he criticised leaders like late Levy Mwanawasa and late Frederick Chiluba, he still went to their houses and they remained friends," said Fr Bwalya.

"For me, I will not consider it as death but I will consider it as Fr Miha going back to the Lord."

Fr Miha was also editor of The Challenge and Icengelo magazines.
