PRESIDENT Michael Sata has relieved Dr Joshua Kanganja of his duties as Secretary to the Cabinet.
In a letter to Dr Kanganja, President Sata thanked him for his services to the country.
He also informed Dr Kanganja that should there be need for his services, he might be recalled.
President Sata had extended Dr Kanganja's contract which was supposed to end on November 30, this year.
Dr Kanganga had requested President Sata to allow him to hang around until February 2012 to wait for him (President Sata) to finalise appointments of permanent secretaries.
Dr Kanganja had been Secretary to the Cabinet since late president Levy Mwanawasa's time.
