MICHAEL Kaingu on Saturday told Livingstone MMD members that he will soon bring fish and cabbages on the streets. And Kaingu says he foresees the Patriotic Front government resigning.

Addressing a meeting at Victoria Hall on Saturday, Kaingu who is MMD vice-president - political, said he would also become a street vendor, selling cabbage and dry fish from Mwandi (his constituency).

He mocked tourism and arts minister Sylvia Masebo that she had failed to even remove vendors from the streets.

Kaingu said street vendors should refuse to leave the streets.
"I shall soon bring fish and cabbages on the streets," he said.
And Kaingu said he supported MMD president Nevers Mumba's stance that the opposition would shoot down the budget if the PF continued to behave in an unconstitutional manner.

"If they continue not allowing us to hold meetings and behaving in an unconstitutional manner, we shall shoot down that budget. If President Sata continues to be so undemocratic, we will shoot the budget so that we can go for general elections," Kaingu said.

Kaingu said President Sata would not manage to steal members from the MMD.

"We don't want to go to the PF government. If they have failed like we have seen, let them resign. We are ready to move in because we have a quality, visionary, futuristic, handsome president and quality leaders. Our president was a Republican vice-president, so he knows how to run government; we are ready. Not this gon'ga (fake) government that has failed to fulfil its 90 days promises," Kaingu said.

MMD Southern Province women's chairperson Mary Ngoma praised Kaingu for tearing the President's speech in Parliament.

"We thank you in the manner you behaved in Parliament; you are really a man...," she said.

On Friday Kaungu had threatened to hold party meetings at police stations if the police continued to deny the opposition permits to hold public meetings. However, police gave the MMD a go-ahead to hold its meeting at Nakatindi Hall.
