PF suspends 13 Luapula officials

THE PF provincial executive in Luapula has suspended 13 officials from the party for, among other things, pushing for the removal of provincial chairperson Kennedy Sakeni..

PF provincial secretary James Kabwita, who confirmed the suspensions in an interview yesterday, named the suspended officials as Mansa district PF vice chairperson James Nyenjele, district secretary Obino Chipanta and his vice Tascious Chaikatisha.

Others are district information and publicity secretary Joseph Songolo, Mansa central constituency chairperson Stephen Chenda together with his secretary Elijah Sinfukwe and Mansa Central constituency youth chairperson Victor Kapasa.
Albina Chiyambi, Chaala Lwimpa, Danny mulenga, Shamende Mpundu, Alice Chipulu and Katebe Wilson from Bahati and Mansa Central constituencies, respectively, have also been suspended.

Kabwita said the suspended officials were also in the habit of holding illegal meetings and issuing press statements without the consent of the provincial secretariat.

"We have decided to suspend these officials because of their indiscipline within the PF party, so they will remain suspended until after three months when we shall assess them and if they are not going to reform, another disciplinary action will be slapped on them," said Kabwita.

The suspended officials refused to comment on the matter but promised to issue a comprehensive statement at a later stage.
