PRESIDENT Michael Sata and I want the people of Zambia to cry and not celebrate when we die, says Vice-President Dr Guy Scott. Speaking when he addressed a public rally at Luamala Primary School on Monday, Vice-President Scott said he and President Sata wanted to leave Zambia better than they found it.

"Sata and I want, when we die, people should cry and not celebrate because we are dead. That is why in 2016, we want you to vote with your eyes and not with your ears because we just want to be pointing at the various developmental projects that we would have done," he said.

Vice-President Scott said the PF cared a lot about the welfare of the poor and wanted to improve the situation.

And Vice-President Scott said MMD president Nevers Mumba was jealous of him.

Commenting on Mumba's statement when he spoke on Mkushi community radio station, that President Sata had appointed him Vice-President because he thinks whites were more intelligent than blacks, Vice-President Scott said Mumba was jealous because he (Dr Scott) was performing better than Mumba did when he served as vice-president.

Vice-President Scott said President Sata was interested in people who were capable of performing regardless of their tribe or race.

He said he had always been interested in the welfare of Zambia since he started serving in public offices.

And Vice-President Scott directed North-Western Province minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu to ensure that the fertiliser to be distributed by Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia benefits the poor people and not commercial farmers.

And Northern Province minister Obius Chisala said UPND would have been better with Kalomo member of parliament Request Muntanga as its president because he had more experience in politics than Hakainde Hichilema.

Meanwhile, Mubukwanu said it was PF's belief that youths were not just future leaders but that they should also take part in leadership positions now, hence the decision to adopt Peter Ilunga to contest the July 25 Solwezi East parliamentary by-election.
