WYNTER Kabimba is the boss, says Vice-President Dr Guy Scott. During the closing of the two-day Council of African Political Parties (CAPP) on Monday, Dr Scott said Kabimba was a good leader. Vice-President Scott said he had known Kabimba's leadership qualities from the time PF was in the opposition.
"In principle, I am his (Kabimba's) boss but he gets to do most of the job, so he's the boss. He's a good boss. If there is anything I don't know, he's always there to answer," Vice-President Scott said.
"We go back a long way when we used to fight together in the opposition until we formed government, and he's provided good leadership."
Vice-President Scott said CAPP should do something that would give African political parties visibility, solidity and ability and learn from each other.
He said it was the responsibility of CAPP to reduce tension in Africa.
"I am impressed that CAPP is comprises opposition and ruling parties; that will bring tension down according to my experience. It is giving flesh to parties' dialogue across countries and it needs help enormously. It is sad every time you switch on the television, you see war in Egypt, Mali; that's not good," he said.
Vice-President Scott urged CAPP to strengthen inter-party relations among its members.
He said there was a tendency among political parties to forget about themselves when they formed government.
"We need to strengthen political parties because all the time I am invited, I am invited as Republican Vice-President, not as party Vice-President; so we need to interact," Vice-President Scott asked.
