CHIEF Mutondo of the Nkoya people of Kaoma district says Zambians should live as equal citizens for peace and development to be achieved in the country.

Speaking at his Lukena Palace when Western Province permanent secretary Amos Malupenga paid a courtesy call on him, chief Mutondo also expressed happiness with the establishment of Nkeyema and Luampa districts.

He said the establishment of the two districts would create employment opportunities for the local people.

Chief Mutondo, however, bemoaned delays in deciding on the location of the district administrative centres in Nkeyema and Luampa which were delinked from Kaoma district last year.

He also said the use of names for Indunas and headmen on National Registration Cards (NRCs) was breeding confusion in the area.

Chief Mutondo proposed that only names of gazzetted chiefs should appear on NRCs as the new identity cards come into effect.
