IT is practically impossible for the Patriotic Front government to satisfy everyone's demands within a shortest period of time, says chief Malembeka of the Lamba people of Mpongwe district.

In an interview yesterday, chief Malembeka called on all traditional leaders in the country to exercise patience because the PF government was more than willing to fulfil its promises.

"We cannot start saying a lot of things when the PF government has just come into power; we need to give them ample time to see what they are going to do for us. To say the truth, I am confident that the PF government is going to change a lot of things in the chiefdoms," she said.

Chief Malembeka said there was no need of condemning or speaking ill of the PF government because it was evident that "they came into power with an open eye".

She said the PF government had advised chiefdoms in different parts of the country to identify projects that would help them develop their various chiedoms.

She said most of the chiefdoms lacked police posts.

Chief Malembeka said police officers played an important role in the society, adding that rural areas too needed competent and hardworking police officers.

"I can say that the police officers in my chiefdom are doing a very good job…they are cooperative unlike those in other chiefdoms who forget that they are police officers," she said.

She said government had promised to put up mobile health clinics in chiefdoms.
Chief Malembeka said she was working hand-in-hand with her people to identify a place where a clinic could be built.

"There is need for all of us to support the PF government if we are to see development. They have made a lot of promises and there is need for all of us to work with them…to help them fulfil their promises because they have only been in power for a short period of time," said chief Malembeka.
