JAPAN remains resolved to cooperate with Zambia in its developmental efforts through frameworks such as the Tokyo International Conference on African Development. Japanese Ambassador to Zambia Akio Egawa made the remarks when he presented his credentials to President Rupiah Banda at State House yesterday.
Ambassador Egawa said he was proud that many Japanese experts and personnel were deployed across the country in villages, schools and clinics and they worked with local Zambians thus fostering friendship between the two nations and promoting technology transfer.
And President Banda said Zambia supported calls for a just and equitable world order.
President Banda hoped Zambia and Japan would continue to cooperate and support each other at international fora.
President Banda said Zambia appreciated the assistance rendered by Japan since the establishment of the two countries’ relations.
He said the assistance in sectors such as health, education and infrastructure development had positively impacted the lives of Zambians.
President Banda said Japan, being one of the leading economies, had a lot to share with Zambia.
